Online Legal Advice
A remote consultation about your legal matter and available documents. Describe the situation, country and outcome sought so we can identify the appropriate professional, format and scope of advice. Contact arrangements, timing and fees are agreed beforehand; an office visit is not needed for an initial enquiry.
Key Information
When to start with an online discussion
An online format is useful when you need to understand a document, assess possible steps or prepare to act from another country. It allows the facts and documents to be discussed without travelling to an initial meeting. The means of communication does not change what a legal assessment requires.
Identify the main question before enquiring: for example, an explanation of a demand received, a list of missing documents or assessment of a possible remedy. A precise task makes it easier to identify the expertise needed and distinguish advice from later representation or document preparation.
Your initial description and choosing a professional
For the first message, state the country, subject, parties and important dates. Mention any existing court case or official application immediately. A messenger enquiry starts the discussion; it does not automatically mean an instruction has been accepted or a professional is available for any requested action.
For several related issues, we establish priorities. A family property dispute, obtaining a document and using a decision abroad may require different expertise. A final answer to every international and procedural question should not be expected before the documents and appropriate jurisdiction have been checked.
Discussing documents remotely
Provide legible copies of the agreed documents and explain what concerns you. The complete text, attachments, date and status matter. A paragraph without the preceding terms, or a cropped decision, may change the understanding of the issue and provide an insufficient basis for advice.
Before the discussion, the professional may request missing information or suggest a different scope of analysis. A large volume of papers is not always included in a short consultation. For a detailed review, we define the documents and output so the client understands what will be checked and what remains outside the work.
Advice during a consultation or in writing
The format depends on the purpose. A conversation allows the circumstances and follow-up questions to be discussed; a written response may be needed to set out findings and next steps clearly. Correspondence alone does not mean a full written review of every document supplied has been commissioned.
For an initial discussion of a legal issue before choosing the format, you can enquire about legal advice. This page explains how remote work is arranged. The review and output depend on the agreed task rather than the communication channel.
Matters involving another country
State the country where the event occurred, the parties’ locations and how the outcome will be used. Enquiring in Ukrainian does not automatically determine the applicable law. If a local lawyer is needed, their availability, language and scope of assistance must be confirmed before specific procedural or registration steps are planned.
Advice concerning one country should not be applied to another without checking. A consultation also does not guarantee that every later stage can be handled remotely: originals, proper authority or a personal step by the client may be required. These conditions depend on the actual procedure, not the general convenience of working online.
Urgent documents and the limits of advice
If you receive a summons, demand, refusal or another document with important dates, provide it in full and state when it was served. Do not wait for a scheduled discussion to report an action already due. Urgent professional involvement is confirmed separately and is not automatic once a message has been sent.
Advice may explain how to respond but does not replace filing the response or taking another procedural step. The client should know who is responsible for the next action. Where a document needs to be prepared remotely, you separately agree online legal document drafting with a defined recipient and purpose.
A further instruction after the consultation
The consultation may identify documents to obtain, negotiations, a contract to prepare or representation. Each task has its own conditions and authority. Providing papers for discussion does not mean a lawyer is already filing applications, contacting the other party or conducting a case for the client.
To obtain supporting evidence, we can separately assess document retrieval. If no further work is commissioned, the client can use the agreed advice within the circumstances explained. New facts or a decision may require another review rather than mechanically repeating earlier advice.
04Documents and Preparation
Preparing for the discussion
Prepare a brief timeline and questions in order of importance. Gather documents supporting key events and identify missing items. Electronic files should be legible, complete and clearly named so different versions of a contract or decision are not confused during the discussion.
State your preferred contact method and time zone if abroad. Do not send passwords, unnecessary bank details or an entire personal archive before the documents required are clear. If a representative will communicate, explain their role and establish appropriate authority for the task.
05How We Work
Arranging the consultation and completing the stage
Your initial description helps us identify the professional, analysis, format and fees required. We agree the time and documents to review. During the consultation, we distinguish available options from steps that still require documents or further information.
At the end, clarify which questions have been answered, what still needs checking and whether further work is being commissioned. We do not guarantee a particular court or administrative outcome on the basis of a conversation alone. The legal assessment depends on the agreed scope and reliability of the information provided.
Frequently Asked Questions
How does an online consultation work?
The issue, communication format and necessary documents are agreed first. The professional then considers the task within that scope.
Can advice be provided entirely in writing?
A written format can be agreed separately. Some matters require follow-up discussion or additional documents.
Must I send every document immediately?
No. Start with an outline and key papers. Further documents are shared by agreement once their relevance is clear.
Does an online consultation include taking on litigation?
No. Representation, drafting and filing require separate instructions and the appropriate authority.
What should I say if the matter is urgent?
Give the exact event or deadline date and the document establishing it. Availability must be expressly confirmed.
